Terms of Service
Last updated: 4 May 2026
By purchasing or using the Swiss Gems of Switzerland guide ("the Guide") or the hikebeast.ch website ("the Site"), you agree to these terms. They're meant to be readable. If anything is unclear, email leon@hikebeast.ch.
Who you're buying from
Saftladen GmbH (UID CHE-296.654.267), Birkenstrasse 47, 6343 Rotkreuz, Switzerland. See our imprint for full company details.
What you get
A digital travel guide ("Swiss Gems of Switzerland") delivered as a downloadable PDF and made available via a Google Drive folder. Each entry includes coordinates, access notes, hike difficulty, best season, and photo guidance. The Guide is updated free of charge for as long as we keep maintaining it; we make no commitment to a specific update cadence or end-of-life date.
License and use
You buy a personal, non-transferable license to use the Guide for your own trip planning and photography. You may not:
- resell, republish, or redistribute the PDF or its contents
- share your download link, access link, or PDF copy with others
- use the content to build a competing guide, list, app, or paid service
- scrape, automate, or bulk-extract the GPS coordinates and route data
Quoting individual spots in non-commercial blog posts or videos with credit ("via @leon.helg / Hikebeast") is fine and encouraged.
Safety in the mountains
Mountain conditions change fast. Weather, snow lines, river levels, rockfall and trail closures can all make a route unsafe between the time we documented it and the time you go. The Guide is research support, not a substitute for your own judgement, current local information, or alpine experience. We assume no liability for personal injury, property damage, or any other loss resulting from your use of the Guide.
Specifically: GPS coordinates can be inaccurate by tens of meters. Trail times in the Guide assume good conditions and average fitness. Some routes cross exposed terrain, glaciers, or unmarked paths and require alpine skills that are not taught in the Guide. Always check current weather, your physical condition, your gear, and local rules before setting out. Tell someone where you're going.
Wildcamping and local rules
Where the Guide marks a spot as wildcamping-friendly or notes legality, that's based on the rules and local conventions we observed at the time of publication. Rules change, and they vary canton by canton, commune by commune, and sometimes parcel by parcel. You are responsible for verifying the current legality at your specific site, respecting private land, leaving no trace, and following posted signage. We are not liable for fines, evictions, or any other consequences of camping at a location listed in the Guide.
Photos in the Guide are taken by Leon Helg unless credited otherwise. Where third-party photos appear, the photographer is credited and we have permission to use them. If you believe a photo of yours has been used without proper credit, email us and we'll resolve it within 7 days.
Payments and refunds
Payments are processed by Stripe. The price you see at checkout is final and includes any applicable taxes.
30-day money-back guarantee. Try the first spot from your list. If you don't think "wow, I never would've found this", email leon@hikebeast.ch within 30 days and I'll send the CHF 27 back. No questions, no form, just an email. After 30 days we still help with anything that genuinely went wrong, but we treat each case individually rather than automatically.
Account access and revocation
Your purchase grants you a personal access link delivered by email. We may revoke access if we detect resale, mass distribution, or fraud (including chargebacks reversed in our favour). Revoked access does not entitle you to a refund.
Privacy
How we handle your personal data is described in our privacy policy.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms occasionally. Material changes will be highlighted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Guide or the Site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by Swiss law. Any disputes arising from them fall under the jurisdiction of the courts at the registered seat of Saftladen GmbH (Rotkreuz, Switzerland), to the extent permitted by mandatory consumer law in your country of residence.
